Remove duplicates from a CSV or Excel file
Exact copies are easy to spot. The ones that cost you time are the near matches: the same person with their email in capitals, a phone number written two ways, Acme Ltd and ACME Limited. Klerio finds both kinds and shows you each group before anything is removed.
How it works
- Open your CSV or Excel file in Klerio's Find duplicates tool. It's read in your browser, not uploaded.
- Choose which columns count (email, name, company, phone). Capitals, spacing and endings like Ltd don't matter.
- Review each group: keep one row, keep them all, or combine them into one row with the gaps filled in.
- Download the clean file, with the removed rows listed on a separate sheet.
Why Klerio
- Near matches, not just exact copies: Emails match by address, phones by number, companies without Ltd or Limited.
- Nothing removed without you: Exact copies are pre-selected; possible duplicates wait for your choice.
- Combine instead of delete: Merge a group into one row, filling blanks from the others, with real differences listed.
- Private by design: Files are worked on in your browser, so they never reach our servers.
Common questions
Can I remove duplicates for free?
The free data cleaner tidies spaces, emails, phone numbers, postcodes, dates and capitals, and tells you how many repeated rows and emails your file has. Removing them is part of the Klerio app, which you can try free for 1 day.
Does it work with Excel files?
Yes: .xlsx and .xlsm workbooks, CSV and TSV files, and JSON.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Supported files are read and worked on in your browser tab; only counts (like how many rows) reach Klerio, never the file or its contents.
